Split PDF.
One document, the pages you need.

How to split a PDF

  1. 1Drop in the PDF you want to split.
  2. 2Type the pages you want, using commas and dashes: 1, 3, 5-9.
  3. 3Press Extract to save those pages as one new PDF.
  4. 4Or press Burst to save every page in the document as its own file.

How to write page ranges

Use commas for single pages and a dash for a run of them. 1, 3, 5-9 gives you page one, page three and pages five through nine, in that order, in a single file. Page numbers are the ones printed in your reader, counting from one. Numbers past the end of the document are ignored.

Extract or burst

Extract makes one new PDF holding the pages you listed. Burst ignores the range box and saves every page separately, named after the original with a page number on the end. A long document bursts into a lot of downloads at once, so your browser may ask you to allow multiple files.

Split PDF: common questions

How do I delete pages from a PDF?

List the pages you want to keep rather than the ones you want gone. For a ten page document without page four, type 1-3, 5-10 and press Extract.

Is my document uploaded?

No. Splitting runs in your browser with pdf-lib, so the file stays on your machine and no server ever sees it.

Can I reorder pages while splitting?

Yes. The output follows the order you type. Entering 5, 1, 2 gives you a three page PDF starting with the old page five.

What does burst do?

It saves every page of the document as a separate one page PDF, named after the original with the page number appended.

Does it produce a zip file?

No. Burst downloads each page individually, so you may need to let your browser save several files at once.

Is there a page limit?

No. The limit is whatever your browser can hold in memory.
